1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of the monthlyreads website and subscription service. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and subscribe. By using our service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Please notify us immediately at hello@monthlyreads.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Subscription Plans

• Individual Plan — 1 curated used book per month for €9.99/month.
• Family Plan — 3 curated used books per month for €19.99/month.
• Annual billing — both plans are available with annual billing at a 10% discount.

Prices are inclusive of delivery within Ireland and the United Kingdom. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' notice.

5. Billing & Payment

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled. You authorise us to charge your payment method on file for recurring fees.

6. Delivery

• We currently deliver to addresses within Ireland and the United Kingdom.
• Books are typically dispatched within the first week of each billing cycle, with delivery taking 3–5 working days.
• Delivery is included in the subscription price at no additional cost.

7. Book Condition

All books are pre-owned (used) and have been quality-checked before dispatch. While books may show signs of previous ownership (minor shelf wear, soft creases), we ensure every book is in good, readable condition. We do not send books with significant damage such as torn pages, water damage, or excessive markings.

8. Cancellation & Pausing

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will continue to receive your remaining deliveries for that period. No partial refunds are issued for mid-cycle cancellations.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the monthlyreads website — including text, graphics, logos, and design — is owned by monthlyreads and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Irish law, monthlyreads shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. Your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law are unaffected.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to you via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
